THE BAND

JR Davis has had a long career in country music, however his soaring vocals have been a perfect fit for HWY 41 SOUTH. JR handles lead vocals and harmony, along with picking his Martin flat top. He's also been known to have some of the best smoked mullet, and mullet dip around. So be sure and see him if you get hungry.
Robert Feathers is a multi award winning, flat picking champion, who is sponsored by GHS strings, and Bailey Guitars. He has played on stage with bluegrass legends such as James King, and has had the honor to record with greats such as Audie Blaylock, Michael Cleveland, and Jesse Brock. Robert is hard working on his first lead vocal for 41. Be sure and get an update on this when you see us out and about. So far it has been an adventure !!!
Saturday at Yeehaw: 'Ruby' (one word)
Sunday at Yeehaw : 'Yes Jesus Loves Me' (just these words) however this is progress !!!
But he can Pick !!!!
Starting out on the flat top, and then moving to the mandolin, Mark Horn has played with several regional bluegrass bands and won the 2010 Florida Old Time Music Championship mandolin competiton. Early influences were Mac Wiseman ,Jesse McReynolds, and of course Bobby Osborne. He is best known for promising an audience that Robert Feathers would sing one day during a 41 performance. Still believes in the tooth fairy as well..
Donnie Harvey began playing the banjo at age nine. He played with the late great Larry Rice as a teen and the lessons learned are obvious when you hear him pick on stage with 41. Donnie also contributes his smooth baritone to the harmonies that are essential to the HWY 41 SOUTH sound.
David Beaumont has been a well known musician in bluegrass circles for many years. Hailing originally from San Antonio, Florida and now making his home in Fort Lonesome in Hillsborough County, Florida, Dave has had the honor of playing with some of the best bands, and musicians in Florida. Dave’s banjo playing, mandolin playing, and rhythm guitar playing skills are well known after performing with such groups as The Beaumont Family Band, FootHill, NeverFade, and The Pasco High FFA String Band (Florida state champion).
